Read a road, Walk a scroll

Inkjet on paper, 21 x 345 cm (2021)
full transcript:
There's a famous Chinese saying: one shall read ten thousand scroll of books and walk ten thousand miles of roads to be able to unite one's knowledge and action, thus to reach the state of nature.
Read a road, walk a scroll is the reversed micro practice to this saying: what presented on the scroll is a transcription of everything the artist read on a street (Dienerstrasse, 8004 Zurich) while walking. The audience, on the other hand, need to walk 3,45 meters long to read the whole contents of the scroll, completing the transformation between walking and reading.
